Illustration for Bostonia magazine, Boston University
Editorial illustration for the university magazine Bostonia
Founded in 1900, Bostonia was among the first and is among the most prestigious and important American university magazines (alumni magazine).
In this assignment I was asked to illustrate the readings section (Book Briefs) of the alumni magazine with the reviews of upcoming books.
As usual, in the initial phase I did some illustration sketches addressing the contents of the individual books reviewed in a synthetic and conceptual way.
At the end, the publisher opted for a different direction: an illustration representing the concept of reviewing new releases in the most general way as possible.
For the illustration, together with the art director, we chose a simple and direct vector graphic style.
